What can a seller change in a counter-offer besides price?
A seller's counter-offer can adjust closing date, which repairs get made or credited, included appliances or fixtures, earnest money amount, and contingency deadlines, not just the price itself. Changing any one of these effectively rejects the buyer's original offer and requires a fresh response. Brian Beatty advises sellers on which terms are worth countering versus which ones cost more in delay than they gain in value.
