What is a sale contingency and will sellers accept it?
A sale contingency makes a buyer's offer conditional on selling their current home first, giving the buyer protection but adding uncertainty for the seller accepting it. Sellers generally accept these terms only when they have limited other interest or the contingent buyer's own home is already under contract. Brian Beatty advises sellers on when a contingent offer is worth the wait and when to hold out for a cleaner one.
