Who decides the listing price when a couple is divorcing?
Listing price during a divorce is set by agreement between both spouses, or by the family court if they cannot agree, not by either party alone. An agent can recommend a price backed by comparable sales, but cannot list without both owners' consent when the property is jointly titled. Brian Beatty often works with both spouses' attorneys directly so pricing decisions do not stall the sale while the divorce is pending.
