Does an ADU add value to a Sullivan's Island or Awendaw home?
An accessory dwelling unit can add value on Sullivan's Island or in Awendaw when local zoning actually permits one and the added square footage or rental potential outweighs its construction and insurance cost. Sullivan's Island's stricter zoning and flood rules make an ADU harder to add than Awendaw's more rural lots.
